Office 365 User Guide

Office365_mobile_apps

This is a concise guide on how to set up email on your mobile device, and access Office 365 services on the move.

Setting up email on your mobile device

There are 2 options when setting up email on a mobile phone or tablet, you will need to choose which app you want to use first:

Outlook

For the most functionality with Office 365, we recommend using the Microsoft Outlook app on your mobile. Install Microsoft Outlook from your app store and follow the instructions. Sign in with your company email address and password when prompted.

Native apps – iOS Mail or Android Mail apps

If you prefer, you can simply add the account to your existing email app. This is usually just a case of adding a new account and using your normal email address and password.

For either of these methods, see https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Set-up-Office-apps-and-email-on-a-mobile-device-7dabb6cb-0046-40b6-81fe-767e0b1f014f for specific steps.

Office on mobile

You can also install Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and other Office 365 apps on your mobile device. This will let you access documents stored in the cloud (e.g. in OneDrive or SharePoint), as well as editing email attachments and creating documents on the go.

Just search for ‘Microsoft’ in the iOS app or Play store and install the applications you like, see the above link for more detailed instructions.

Installing Office desktop applications on PC or MAC

If you have an Office 365 Business Premium or E3 license, you can install desktop versions of Microsoft Office on up to 5 PCs, including your personal PC or Mac. Bear in mind that any systems you do this on will have access to your data, so only do this on devices that you own.

· Go to www.office.com and sign in

· In the top right, click on Install Office

Note that if you don’t see this button, it is likely that you don’t have the correct license.

See https://support.office.com/en-us/article/download-and-install-or-reinstall-office-365-or-office-2019-on-a-pc-or-mac-4414eaaf-0478-48be-9c42-23adc4716658 for more information and detailed instructions. You will need to have a current license for these applications to keep working.

Accessing Office 365 and webmail on the internet

If you are out and about or using someone else’s computer, you can access all Office 365 apps online.

Simply go to www.office.com and sign in with your normal credentials. Once signed in, you can click on the Outlook icon to view your email.

If using a public computer, we recommend using the browsers private mode e.g. in Chrome click on the menu in the top right corner and choose Incognito mode. This will prevent any details being saved. Also, make sure you sign out by clicking on your initials or picture in the top right-hand corner, and sign out when finished.
