This is the fix for Windows 10 start menu search not working, this is affecting almost all Windows 10 users.
The issue manifests itself as a blank start menu when searching:

- Run Regedit.exe
- Browse to HKEY CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Search
- Create a new 32-bit DWORD called ‘BingSearchEnabled’ and set to 0
- Do the same steps for ‘CortanaConsent’, also set to 0
- Open task manager and restart Windows Explorer (open explorer if you don’t see it at the top).
